Masjid Al-Imam Ahmed An-Najmi – Visual Identity Design

A Tribute in Design to a Respected Scholar

Inspired by the legacy of Shaykh Ahmad an-Najmi (رحمه الله), this logo aims to embody scholarly dignity, reverence, and clarity through an elegant, round visual identity.

Project Overview

The client envisioned a masjid logo that would both honor the great scholar Ahmad An-Najmi and reflect the aesthetics of traditional Islamic design. It needed to feature classical Arabic calligraphy, regional identity, and a harmonious color scheme fit for signage, publications, and community branding.

What We Did

  • Developed a central Arabic logotype with balanced diacritics and traditional flow
  • Integrated English type beneath for accessibility and international recognition
  • Used an ornamental pattern background and circular badge shape to convey tradition and unity
  • Incorporated location cues (Hargeisa – Somaliland) in both Arabic and English

Outcome

  • Delivered a noble and respectful identity for the masjid
  • Ensured clear branding adaptable for digital, print, and architectural use
  • Helped the community connect visually to the masjid’s scholarly inspiration
